The Wider Earth begins

Its cold today after a couple of very warm days, unseasonably warm. We are heading into our third week of shows and we have two more weeks to go.The Wider Earth (co produced by Queensland Theatre Company and Dead Puppet Society)has proven to be a huge success story. It is a story that appeals to everyone, the heroes journey of a young and vibrant Charles Darwin on the Beagle around the world. We have beautifully crafted puppets to work with:

This beautiful puppet opens the show (photo by Dylan Evans) and throughout the two and half hours we see about 33 puppets including turtles, pigeons and squirrels, armadillos, butterflies and fireflies, moths, whales and platypus.

Opening night was a hoot, with standing ovations, bubbles and lots of laughter.
