Is it a festive season?

This photo sums up, for me, what is worthwhile in this strange and discombobulated world: innocence, beauty, and potential. For me, this festive season does not feel festive. At this point, it feels sad, neglected and lost. My values are constantly being challenged with the decisions that our leaders are making in all their pomp and ceremony.

Let us move forward with care, one step at a time, with deep awareness and compassion. Things will change, and those who have sacrificed their lives will not be forgotten. So perhaps this season doesn't have to be festive. It needs to be considerate, compassionate and connected. I wish you those things. Over the next week may you be in the position to cherish and support your family, your friends and your community.
