…a little task or goal

It’s a dull old day in Sydney town, and I am not sure I will venture out too far. However, it is a delicious day for reflection, and when I get around to it, organising myself and what I need to do.

I have been drinking a hot cup of coffee as I scroll my emails, and one newsletter caught my attention. Mark Manson writes a weekly email called “Mindf.ck Monday” and in today’s edition he writes about the importance of goaling or task-listing in order to feel like this COVID time is a time of growth, rather than just something to exist through. I liked his approach. Nothing new, but it is great to be reminded that the hour of so we take at the beginning of the day, setting up what could happen, is actually a healing practice. He writes:

What I noticed is that as long as I’ve got some goal for myself—no matter how made up or arbitrary— it makes the chaos and insanity of the outside world that much easier to deal with emotionally. (Mark Manson)

So those few hours early morning, incorporating meditation (I have been following Deepak Chopra’s 21 Days of Meditation), stretching (Sun Saluations), coffee, and goaling, are important to me.

May today be a good one.
