MBA’S GROWING WORKSHOP SERIES 2021
Nearly 2021. It certainly came around quickly. In 2020 I engaged in numerous COVID series of Zoom workshops, and they proved so successful that I am going to continue, and in the new year these workshops will become more focused on specific groups. You can register your interest by sending me a message on this website.
February and March I am offering a Zoom workshop series for playwrights. The workshop is not about learning how to write a play. I am assuming you know how to do that. The workshop is a process of shaking up your ‘stuck’ thoughts, opening to multiple art forms in order to refine and reconsider the decisions you may have already made. Here is a quote from a PhD researcher who participated this year in a workshop series, initially a little reluctantly, however she….
“ … quickly found out [there were others]… on the same path as me and 'lost in the lonely world of PhD research'. It… became a journey that Margi openly allowed us to explore in our own way - and encouraged me to go rogue - she actually celebrated my individual uniqueness - and I can never thank her enough. She allowed me for the very first time to embrace this quality within me and to learn from what it was telling me. I started to focus again, I started to not be afraid of my PhD topic and my creative side, I started to answer to myself and became a little less afraid… Margi allowed me to see my story and to embrace it ... GO AND DO IT ... it may just save not only your research; it may just help you find you." Maree-Elizabeth PhD Candidate.
March will see an emerging artists Zoom offering, created four a small group of 4-6 artists and will be held over two afternoons.
April/May 2021 I will add several general Zoom workshops for artists as they create ways of working and living.
And so the year will unfold and the workshops will change depending on where my personal learning leads me. As a ferocious reader with a thirst for new knowledge and new ways of doing things, I shall continue to engage in my own personal and professional training, because there is always more to learn.
I can’t wait to meet all of you artists who are registering your interest. Remember that one of the values of MBA’s workshop series is flexibility, and so if a time does not suit, you need to say. Things constantly shift and if there are four people who want to change times, then there is a huge possibility that we can do just that.
Warmest,
Margi
